This was a talk about painting about painting. Painting is always about painting just as writing is always about writing. Though art history is written, there’s another art history: a painted one. This was a talk about this other art history: one written in paint. Painters that were discussed included Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Philip Guston, Jutta Koether, Pablo Picasso, Marlene Dumas and Peter Paul Rubens.
